After a couple hours of spinnin' on KDHX tomorrow, I'll bring my Domino's bag of musical treats over to The Royale, 3132 So. Kingshighway. Will spin from 10:00 p.m. until close at 1:17 a.m. No theme comes to mind immediately, but we'll see what's packed t'morrow afternoon. See ya.Best,

On Friday, I'll be guesting on Randy Grim's WGUN 920 AM radio show, from noon-1 p.m., alongside fellow guests Paul Schankman of KTVI and Dallas Drake of the St. Louis Blues. Hmm, how about that? (Based on a reader question: the show will have something to do with animals. Thanks for asking. Update: the show went well. Randy's actually a natural on the mic; WGNU was smart to recruit him for "Animal Tales." Though he still didn't get me to take a dog.)
And on Saturday, I'm pleased to be filling in for Nico Leone on KDHX's "Coin-Operated Radio" from 6-8 p.m. on 88.1 FM. Ryne Watts (pictured) will be playing live during the first segment.

With today's issue, I'm starting a new column in the Post entitled - ahem - "Saturday Night Date," which focuses on activities around town each Saturday evening. Today's is on the band 7 Shot Screamers, who'll appear at the Way Out Club in about six hours. Next week, a couple of options for coverage are possibilities.I'd hotlink to the piece, but it doesn't appear loaded into the STLtoday.com system. Hmm.

Crazy month, still forming. My Sauce piece is on record stores with actual records, esp. Vintage Vinyl and Euclid Records.
In Playback, I interview Eric Hall.
Thursday's P-D/Get Out will have an interview with Matt Wagner of CBGB, rather than the usual bar review.
I have the cover of Alive this month, with a Q/A w/ Javier Mendoza. Okay!
And there's a piece on Tension Head in the new issue of St. Louis Magazine.
Ridiculous amounts of blogging, as always, on my co-op site 52nd City.
Some interesting freelance shifting will occur in the next week. More soon.
