Summer Writing Workshops @ the Hartford Community CafeLocal writer Thomas Crone will host five, single-session writing workshops at the Hartford Community Cafe over the next month, in two age ranges: 8-10 and 11-14. Group activities will focus on both fiction and non-fiction writing, with a pinch of poetry. Students will participate in individual and group activities, with an emphasis on writing games that they can take home for the remainder of summer. Students would only need to bring a fresh notebook, a pencil and pen, and a willingness to read their work in a group setting.
The instructor is a longtime freelance writer in the area, currently contributing to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, St. Louis Magazine, Sauce Magazine, Playback, the St. Louis American and insidestl.com, among other publications and websites. He is also a frequent adjunct professor at Webster University, teaching a number of writing courses through the School of Communications at WU.
