Ugh

Please don't mention it.

Minutes 119-121 saw me utter several unkind words about the Italian team. Crushing.

I feel your pain, just in a smaller dose. It was a good game and Italy actually seemed like it wanted to score.

Note to Germany--

Not closing out on people with the ball in the box is not a long term strategy.

Klinsman sp? for USA coach!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:56 AM

Wouldn't it be nice to see Klinsmann as the coach of the American side? Doesn't sound like it's going to happen though:

"Already, however, Franz Beckenbauer - the president of Germany's 2006 World Cup organising committee - has urged him to carry on and it seems inconceivable that Klinsmann would abandon the young side he has meticulously assembled over the past two years."

I hope you guys have been reading the tournament coverage in the Guardian -- it's some of the best sportswriting in the world.
